It's official: the Autumnal Equinox took place yesterday and we have now started Fall. Hard to believe for those of us in the Southwest where the nightly low temperature just started dipping below 80 degrees.
Nonetheless, it's been a long, hot & humid summer for the majority of us and cooler temperatures are a welcome change. For me, especially, it marks the transition from iced tea to hot tea. One by one, my seasonal friends make their way out of the pantry and into my cup for a fall celebration: Orange Spice, Masala Chai, Pumpkin, Apple Cider and Cinnamon teas.
Using the oven is something unheard of during the 100+ degree days of Summer, but the motivation to bake is slowly coming back. Along with that comes the excitement of trying new recipes for Fall themed Afternoon Tea or Sunday Brunch. The link below is a how-to video for making Pumpkin Bread / Muffins (showcasing fresh pumpkin), compliments of Alton Brown & the Food Network.
So break out your "autumn leaves" tablecloth & tea lites and brew your seasonal favorites ~ it's time to celebrate Fall!
